We have new furniture!

We have purchased new furniture for our class. They look great and are very comfortable.

The lounge is in front of the Smartboard – so we can sit comfortably while Miss Duncan teaches us.

We also have new desks that are moon-shaped and can be moved in different positions, such as a semi circle, when we are working.
Semi-circles are good because we can see and hear what everyone is saying.

Learning new things

One of the things we like to watch and listen to, during our Crunch and Sip time, is the Cup Song (Auslan version):

A few weeks ago, Taylor was visiting from Mr Freeburn’s class. Taylor taught us some of the actions and we had so much fun making rhythm and beats along with the music.

Today, we had another go at making the rhythms and actions. We’re improving, aren’t we?

Cooking up a storm

Yesterday we made Mars Bar Slice. We made it from this recipe here.

We had to follow instructions from the recipe to make it.

Firstly, we chopped up the mars bars and added them to the pot with butter and golden syrup.

Then, we stirred the mixture in the pot over low heat until it was melted and mixed together.

Then we added 4 cups of rice bubbles to the pot, and stirred them into the melted chocolate.

Next, we spooned the chocolate rice bubbles into the trays that we had lined with baking paper.

Lastly, we poured some melted chocolate over the top of the slice and put it in the fridge. (Miss Wardley forgot to take a picture of the final product)

You’ll just have to trust us when we tell you that it was REALLY yummy.

Cooking and Creating

One of our favourite things to do is cooking.

Miss Duncan brings in some ingredients for us to make yummy things with.

We have decorated cup cakes, iced biscuits, and made rainbows out of fruit loops and marshmallows.

Miss Duncan tells us the order to do things, and at the end we get to eat it!

It is a great time to ask questions and use our language.

We also develop our fine motor skills.

As you can see – we have a lot of fun!
